Newbie tries Valorant with a crappy laptop

First of all, my laptop is an Hp pavillion i think it's a 2015 model and has a built in video card (some low spec nvidia) though im not a tech whiz i know that this laptop is very outdated. just to play valorant with 50-60 fps i have to re-format my laptop and delete everything so that valorant can eat up all the space i have in the laptop. I can say that you will not enjoy playing valorant if you have a low spec laptop or pc. you will find yourself constantly losing duels because any change in the screen (ex. smokes, walls, or even enemies sometimes) will cause your frames to drop and 80-100% of the time the enemy will have fired a whole clip unto you before you can even react becuse of the lag.

playing with friends on the other hand, is a very different situation. it's always fun to play games with friends but valorant is a different beast than for example COD or fortnite. Because of the hero pool in valorant, you can use "passive" heroes or "agents" as they are called ingame to support your teammates without engaging enemies. heroes such as sage, cypher, and killjoy are sentinels who are amazing at holding down sites. with these agents, you can buy time by using your skills such as slows, binds, and aoe damage skills to slow down the enemy's advance buying time for your allies to rotate to your site. But if you want to dip your toes on different agent classes such as initiators and duelist. i suggest you upgrade your tech first.

all in all being a newbie with low spec laptop or pc in valorant is not an enjoyable exp. you're gonna be consistently out played by players with high fps and find your self at bottom of the standings every game.
i would suggest playing with friends, using sentinels, or just upgrading your tech if you have the funds so that you can enjoy valorant to it's full potential.

8/10
