so im not a huge book reader, im more of an audio book guy, i dont know what came over me and i picked up this book for some reason.
the book im talking about is titled codename verity. i picked up this book completely in random, the cover wasn't that special in my opinion and i didn't know who the writer is i didnt do any research about what the book is about. I DID NOT EVEN READ THE SYNOPSIS.
i came into this book thinking that i was just gonna read a few pages, get bored then put it in my shelf. But it was different i got completely engrossed into this book. let me tell you what the basic jist of the book is. (im not gonna spoil the story of the book because i liked it. but i think the story was pretty common? like nothing was particularly extraordinary about it im a story point of view).
the book is about two female characters caught in the world war. one is a mechanic/pilot and one works in the communications of an airfield and they become friends because they are the only two females in this airfield. the book details the story of how friendships made during the war are something else and what people are capable and willing to do to help and find these friends when the situation they're in forces them to be separated.
this book was amazing in my opinion and i got so attached to the two leads that i almost teared up towards the end of the story and the twist and the climax of the story was revealed.
i haven't checked any reviews about the book and i think ill be doing the same to any future books i would be picking up. by doing this i entered the world of the book without any expectations and i liked it. this is a in comparison to another book i tried to read, one which i did a ton of research unto. i think i the reviews messed with my impression of the book and i didn't enjoy it until my second reading.
To any one who might be reading this, i would suggest you do the same. its a great experience and your mind would be clear of expectations going in.
im not gonna re read this blog i think i was rambling and lost my point mid way. But i want this to be my way of writing things. i guess this is a slight peek into the mess that is called my brain.
